Vous trouverez ci-dessous des informations sur l&apos;histoire de la cr\u00e9ation des refroidisseurs \u00e0 vortex et sur leur principe physique.<\/p>\n<p>Le tube vortex a \u00e9t\u00e9 invent\u00e9 par pure co\u00efncidence en 1928. George Ranque, un \u00e9tudiant fran\u00e7ais en physique, a exp\u00e9riment\u00e9 une sorte de pompe \u00e0 tourbillon d&apos;air qu&apos;il avait mise au point et a constat\u00e9 que de l&apos;air chaud sortait \u00e0 une extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 et de l&apos;air froid \u00e0 l&apos;autre. M. Ranque ne s&apos;occupa plus de sa pompe et cr\u00e9a \u00e0 la place une entreprise pour exploiter commercialement ce curieux appareil qui produit de l&apos;air chaud et froid sans pi\u00e8ces mobiles. Cependant, cette premi\u00e8re tentative de commercialisation \u00e9choua et le tube vortex tomba dans l&apos;oubli jusqu&apos;en 1945, date \u00e0 laquelle Rudolph Hilsch, un physicien allemand, publia un article scientifique tr\u00e8s lu sur les refroidisseurs vortex.<\/p>\n<p>Bien plus t\u00f4t, James Clerk Maxwell, un grand physicien du XIXe\u00a0si\u00e8cle, a sugg\u00e9r\u00e9 que si la chaleur provoquait l&apos;agitation des mol\u00e9cules, alors nous devrions un jour \u00eatre en mesure d&apos;obtenir de l&apos;air chaud et de l&apos;air froid \u00e0 partir du m\u00eame appareil, \u00e0 l&apos;aide d&apos;un \u00ab\u00a0petit d\u00e9mon sympathique\u00a0\u00bb qui trierait et s\u00e9parerait les mol\u00e9cules chaudes et froides.<\/p>\n<p>C&apos;est pourquoi le tube vortex est connu sous diff\u00e9rents noms, tels que \u00ab\u00a0tube vortex de Ranque\u00a0\u00bb, le \u00ab\u00a0tube de Hilsch\u00a0\u00bb, le \u00ab\u00a0tube de Ranque-Hilsch\u00a0\u00bb et le \u00ab\u00a0d\u00e9mon de Maxwell\u00a0\u00bb. Sous chacun de ces noms, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 accept\u00e9 au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es comme une r\u00e9ponse simple, fiable et \u00e9conomique \u00e0 un grand nombre de probl\u00e8mes de refroidissement ponctuels industriels.<\/p>\n<p>Les refroidisseurs vortex utilisent l&apos;air comprim\u00e9 comme source d&apos;\u00e9nergie, ne n\u00e9cessitent aucune pi\u00e8ce mobile et produisent de l&apos;air chaud \u00e0 une extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 et de l&apos;air froid \u00e0 l&apos;autre. Le volume et la temp\u00e9rature de ces deux flux d&apos;air sont r\u00e9glables \u00e0 l&apos;aide d&apos;une vanne situ\u00e9e du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l&apos;air chaud. Des temp\u00e9ratures de -46\u00a0\u00b0C et +127\u00a0C sont possibles.<\/p>\n<h3>Il existe de nombreuses th\u00e9ories sur le fonctionnement du tube vortex<\/h3>\n<p>L&apos;explication la plus courante du ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne est la suivante\u00a0:<\/p>\n<p>Le tube vortex est aliment\u00e9 en air comprim\u00e9. L&apos;air passe par des g\u00e9n\u00e9rateurs dispos\u00e9s tangentiellement \u00e0 une d\u00e9pression interne. Les g\u00e9n\u00e9rateurs entra\u00eenent \u00e0 leur tour l&apos;air dans un mouvement tourbillonnaire. Le flux d&apos;air en rotation est d\u00e9vi\u00e9 de 90\u00b0, s&apos;\u00e9chauffe et se d\u00e9place le long du tube chaud en forme d&apos;axe rotatif, comme une tornade. Un peu d&apos;air chaud peut s&apos;\u00e9chapper par une valve situ\u00e9e \u00e0 une extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 du tube. Le reste de l&apos;air qui ne peut pas s&apos;\u00e9chapper est renvoy\u00e9 de force le long du tube sous la forme d&apos;un deuxi\u00e8me tourbillon interne dans la zone de basse pression du plus grand tourbillon. Ce tourbillon interne perd de la chaleur et quitte l&apos;autre extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 sous forme d&apos;air froid.<\/p>\n<p>Alors qu&apos;un flux d&apos;air monte et l&apos;autre descend, les deux tournent dans la m\u00eame direction \u00e0 la m\u00eame vitesse angulaire. Cela signifie qu&apos;une particule du flux interne termine une rotation dans le m\u00eame temps qu&apos;une particule du flux externe. En raison du principe de conservation du couple, on pourrait s&apos;attendre \u00e0 ce que la vitesse de rotation du plus petit tourbillon augmente. Cependant, \u00e0 l&apos;int\u00e9rieur du tube vortex, la vitesse du tourbillon interne est conserv\u00e9e, ce qui signifie que le couple du tourbillon interne est perdu. L&apos;\u00e9nergie perdue se manifeste sous forme de chaleur dans le tourbillon externe.
